Figure Drawing

I spent the evening at The Canvas, an art bar in NW Portland, with my sketching buddies yesterday. The bar provides a clothed model for about 2 and a half hours, in several timed poses. We had a great time sketching, sipping wine, and snacking. This is the best of my timed sketches--as for the rest--let's just say that I need practice.

  1. It's good Janene.

When I go to the class near my parents, I usually get told off if I do a drawing like this... She says it's about form not portraiture.

However, your results show it's about what we want to focus on. Nicely done.

  3. Thanks Sue and Ann. I am interested in (and need to work on) both form and portraiture, so I agree with Sue, its about what we want to focus on at that moment.
